Meet Our Instructors

Parker Shaddix

PGA Associate Lead Golf Instructor/Academy Director

The game of golf has been a lifelong passion of mine. In 2020, I took my love for the game in a new direction. I became a PGA Associate and began coaching and instructing through the Southern Oregon Golf Academy (SOGA). While with SOGA, I was able to learn from and shadow two of the top teaching professionals in the state. Through my affiliation with SOGA and my experience with the Southern Oregon golf community, I developed my belief that there is not one single way to swing a golf club. In fact, due to fundamental differences in a person’s body type, flexibility, physical restrictions, past injuries, and goals, it is my belief that every golfer should work to develop a repeatable golf swing that works for THEM. The most important thing for my students is that they understand their swing and understand the results.

I was drawn to Eagle Crest Resort because of the family-friendly environment, the extensive golf facilities, and the avid golf community. At Eagle Crest Resort, I and the other golf instructors strive to help our students learn more about their individual golf swings, while also promoting enjoyment for the game and success in golf. We look forward to working with you to help you achieve your golf goals, whatever they may be."

Clint O’Neil

PGA Associate 1st Assistant Professional

“I first started playing golf around the age of 13 for fun, but really fell in love with the game a few years later when I got my first job as a junior golf camp counselor. Ever since then I have followed my passion of assisting others enjoy the game of golf. My passion has taken me all over the country including a three-year stint at Trophy Club Country Club, Ben Hogan’s only designed golf course. There I was able to learn under some of the best instructors Texas had to offer before coming back to the Northwest. When not at the course, you can find me enjoying the sights of Central Oregon with the family.”

Kevin Story

PGA Head Golf Professional

Since 2008 I have been a part of the Eagle Crest golf operations. Growing up here in Central Oregon it is a pleasure to be able to serve as a Head Golf Professional in our wonderful golf community. I have always pursued an active interest in teaching golf, creating excitement, and growing the game, and I get to do it in my backyard. In my competitive playing days, I attended Treasure Valley CC on a golf scholarship. My Personal best Round of 65 and competitive round in college of 66. In addition, I serve as the Head boys golf coach at Redmond High School. My easy-to-understand instructional style with a relaxed approach to teaching the fundamentals makes the Game fun and enjoyable. In 2023 I look forward to working with you to help you achieve your golf goals, whatever they may be."

Ron Buerger

PGA General Manager

It’s a pleasure to have helped Central Oregon golfers improve for the past 34 years and I am excited to be taking on more students in 2023. I enjoy working with all types of golfers however my specialty is working with aspiring players that consider themselves competitive golfers. My coaching background includes students that enjoyed high level of success as Division 1 NCAA golfers, high level amateur and professional events which include winners of the Pacific Amateur and Oregon Jr. Amateur. Additionally, I served 20 years as a High School golf coach where my players accumulated 2 state titles and 3 state runner ups. In my playing days I was highly competitive and amassed a respectable playing resume. With a personal best round of 63 and a low competitive round of 65, I can attest to principles of success. I’ve been fortunate to win golf tournaments up and down the west coast and I’ve held a few course records in my time as a professional. I use a practical approach based on each individual person to improve strengths and modify techniques for consistent results. I pride myself in my ability to get to the core of problem causing swing flaws while emphasizing keeping golf as simple as possible. Thank you for letting me help you on your journey to achieve success in your golf game.

These classes will consist of 2 sessions each week for a total of 4 weeks long. This breaks down to 4 hours of drills/instruction and learning new skills and approximately 8 hours of on-course playing lessons. The first session of each week will be working on a new skill and the 2nd session will be held on the golf course putting the new skills acquired to the test. The first test will be from 25 yards and after that the progress is 50 yards, 100, 150, and then back to the red tee box. Golf 101 will be the entry level class that will start with putting and evolve into learning about chipping and pitching. Golf 201 will focus on short game but will expand into learning to hit longer irons. Golf 301 will be the most advanced class that will focus on longer irons, hybrids, fairway woods and your driver.
